Tamil Poetry - An attempt

Maybe my only ever attempt at Tamil Poetry. Long time gestation in my head. Now out in the open. :-)

திருமணம்

தோரணமாய் வானவில்
பன்னீராய் தூறல்
மத்தளமாய் இடி
புகைப்பட பளிச் மின்னல்
விண்ணுலகில் யாருக்கு திருமணம்?

A simple translation...

With the rainbow the welcome arch,
And the drizzle the scented water,
With thunder the percussion,
And lightning the photo flashes,
Who is getting married in the heavens?

    Like the good smelling water thats sprayed on head in marriages , Rain

    @Swaram - Nothing complicated in theme. Again related to rain somewhere. And here it is.

    When i see your comfort level in translations i feel, the quality of proper fundamental education is spiralling down like anything!! not to mention the quotes from english literary! seems most of our current gen is nothing but peter wallah's :(
