Why is it so hard to let go?

Years of gradual accumulation of things makes it so hard to let go; they range from small to large, toys and games that are long worn-out or discoloured, old books, papers and electronics junk, boxes and bags, clothes and furniture. Making it miserable is the fact that memories cling on to a few of them.

Learning it the hard, difficult way, as we are in the middle of a home shift. A filtering of what we feel are not really useful further and needs to be dumped, is in progress. Makes me realize painfully (it is not sorrow, however), how things are squirreled away slowly, unbeknownst of the fact they need to be discarded one day as they are past utilizability.

Just letting the unrest pass before it settles down to an equilibrium of acceptance ... :-)

@zeno-Aamaam Aamaam. :-) Experience paesudhO, on a different plane? ;-) ;-)

@RS-:-) Thanks. Both the homes are ours and are around a 10 minute drive apart (moving into a smaller one and hence all the discards and the pangs of separation). :-) :-(

Antics of ancestors??? Accumulation of some useless things, you mean? If so, I have still not escaped that trait; it is still hiding (or has been made to hide :-D) inside me. Otherwise, you need to clarify what you meant. :-)

@Swaram-:-D Thanks. Should be hopefully done by this weekend.

Oh! So far, they don't seem to be around that place, but it is close to a forest, and so chances are high. :-)

Happy shifting.

Yes, we can't let go, because subconsciously, letting go means letting go of memories, which we are simply not hard wired to do.

I know this was a more light hearted post; so apologies for a philosophical minded comment.

@Ramesh-:-D Thanks. Shifted (physically), at last and the whole body aches, more so, the knees. Shifting of things is still 80% complete. :-( It is more a 'musing' post, so nothing wrong in the philosophical comment.

@ambulisamma-Thanks. Long time no see. :-) Hope your vacation is going on (or has gone off) very well. :-)

@R-ambam-:-D :-D I can only smile.

@zeno-சே சே. அப்படியெல்லாம் பண்ணுவேனா? :-) சும்மா... ;-)
