The barometer ...

Cheee!!! Horrible, Ugly.
It looks so 'gandha'. (gandha-dirty in Hindi)
Yeow! Inji thinna korangu maadhiri irukku (like a monkey that has been zinged by biting pungent ginger)
Ennadaa idhu? Yaendaa? (What is this? Why?)

So, what are these reactions to?

These are all 'first reaction' comments from la Niña, el Niño, Señora and my parents after looking at my face, devoid of the moustache, over the weekend. :-D

And the comments repeated every now and then from la Niña and el Niño and a sheesh!!! smile and head-shake from Señora.

So, my experimental face (phase) doesn't seem to have chances of survival with such hostility as I wait for the stubble to grow. :-( Hmmm...

So, what did you try to prove? That you are not an uncle to those girls, yeh? And finally ended up with these kind of reactions. How can you even experiment with a kid who is fast with retorts??? I am now wondering how long you'll go through this? my sympathies :P

LOL .. time is the best healer :P I felt so the first time I saw the husband without his too .. but nw I cannot like him any other way :P

@G3-Pretty close. :-D Hairdos don't change much of how I look (unless I streak them). :-) I survive with a crew-cut and that doesn't get much of a reaction, much less even a glance from the kids.

@TheUncanny-It is good, as long as you get used to it. :-) A

@RS-You seem to have a stuck memory of that 'uncle' post. :-) There is no proving here, if any, it is that kids (in this case, mine) react with sharper barbs and don't hesitate to wear their thoughts on their sleeves. (Curiously I am reminded of the acceptability post from Gils) :-D :-D

@Swaram-Yep, time is a healer. It is the oddity of seeing an unfamiliar face of mine, that too without a warning. :-)

@zeno-Yep, Does familiarity allow acceptance??? Let me see if you can see me. :-)

French Beard? Original plan was that and that moved into a mush removal. :) Let me experiment it next time. :) Maybe more acceptable.

@R-ambam-True. After the pazhagudhal will be the dilemma. To continue or revert? :-)

Thanks for pointing. The post commenting is fixed. I meddled with Draft Blogger and this reset the commentability of the post.
